When I was a kid writing was needless. I enjoyed stories that my parents told me or read. And of cause, I loved to listen to fairy tales on vinyl disks. When I wanted to communicate with the world I did it verbally.

I was introduced to writing at the prime school. The teacher explained how we should hold a pen and sit correctly when writing. She showed us how to write the first letter “A” and small “a”. She drew it on the blackboard using chalk and we had to reproduce the same symbol in the specially designed notebook that had horizontal and oblique lines with contours of letters. I had to follow the contour with my pen to draw several “A”s in a row. On the next page, the notebook had only guiding lines without contours and the teacher asked us to reproduce the letter “A” and without contour.

So, day by day I learned how to scribe all letters of the alphabet, numbers, and other symbols like commas, colons, and a bunch of others. Bit by bit, I learned how to write separate words and write down sentences following teacher’s dictation.

Finally, the first year was over and the summer break began. It was time to forget about letters, commas, and sentences for a while. Other exciting things were waiting, but this was a different story.

The summer passed by fast, at the beginning of the second-grade class, the teacher announced a new task. She said we are going to write down a short story about summer vacation. It seemed a daunting task to me. I stared at a blank sheet for quite a while until I wrote a few sentences, enough to get some average score. But the task to write a story remained hard and frustrating for a long period.

I can write e-mails, working reports, and of cause short messages using my phone, but there are situations when I have the same feelings and frustration I had at school while sitting in front of a blank sheet not knowing where to start and what to write.

I enjoy reading books and articles. It is a wonder how one can write a story or a book. It seems like magic to me. I know how to write but I have to admit that I don’t know how “to write’. So now it is time to finally learn and master how to express my thoughts, communicate ideas through texts.

I realized that writing is one of the communication means available to a person that can help to find friends, make a carrier, run a business. That is why I acknowledge the importance of having this kind of skill.

I think nowadays it is important for everybody to be able to write clearly and concisely.

I like to read texts that are clear and eloquent. It is much easier to understand and remember information written in such a manner. I guess other people expecting the same when they see a text they want to spend their valuable time with.

I hope that the more I write the more my texts be concise and significant.
