Beginning writing seems to be a daunting task. Going through thinking about a story that you need to begin to write at some point seems to be not easy too. I wish there were some simple formula or algorithm that would tell me how to start and complete my novel or at least a short article, but such formula does not seem to be exist. Every time when I need to deal with writing I would rather be doing something else because writing is difficult. But why it is so difficult for me? On internet I found the quote that seems belonging to Albert Einstein. The quote says that “Thinking is hard work; that’s why so few do it” so I would say same about writing. Paraphrase Einstein quote as “Writing is hard work, that’s why so few do it”. It is because writing involves thinking and thinking was difficult even for Einstein. Nevertheless, my goal is to begin writing and I need to find a way to achieve this goal.

From the course I learned about freewriting. I have noticed that once I start typing something into opened text file, ideas come almost immediately. I think that at this stage of my writing process would be good to apply timeless Chinese proverb that says that “The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins with One Step” (Lao Tzi).

I will never be able to make any text if I don’t begin working on it. Seems like good idea to start with, right? Right, and here I begin my journey of writing. Step by step and eventually I’m at the end of this writing assignment. I hope the reader of this short text find something useful for his writing endeavors. Now I know how to begin and hopefully these techniques help me to invent something that might be worth writing about in the future.
